Our final assignment in the unit will consist on producing an educational project based on our personal and collective experience, as well as new paradigms in education and language learning strategies. We will tell our personal experience on the blog, our teacher will provide us with many readings and interesting sources of information, which we are supposed to analyse here, but we thought that it would also be useful to collect our pre-existing knowledge.
What do we know about new ways of doing in education?
We have spent quite a deal of time discussing about the subject in our degree so far, specially in the units about the theory and history of education and about school organisation. Here is a (longish) summary of principles and concepts by one of our group members.
What do we know about the acquisition of language?
We did learn quite a bit about this last year in two units that dealt with the development of spoken language and teaching language in bilingual contexts. So far, we have three summaries of what we learnt then:
- Oral communication in preschool
- Practical aspects in the acquisition of oral language
- Basics of language teaching in multilingual contexts
What do we know about learning foreign languages?
Well, not much really. We hope this will be the subject we will learn more about during the unit.
